Creating Successful Blended Digital Learning Environments
Thursday, December 3 12:00PM to Friday, December 4 2009 2:00PMThis TASA-Apple Leadership Institute focuses on the vision, leadership and implementation strategies required for creating new digital learning environments that blend existing technologies with cutting-edge, hyper-mobile technologies such as iPods, iPod Touches and iPhones.
This TASA-Apple Leadership Institute is focused helping superintendents understand the vision, leadership and strategic/tactical ways to create “blended” digital learning environments for their digital native students. These students are using hyper-mobile devices (iPods, iPod Touches and iPhones) to communicate, collaborate and learn. The “blended” approach that leverages today’s learning environment with these new hyper-mobile devices is the focus of the Institute. During this event, superintendents will hear from their peers and other education/business leaders who have already embarked on their own blended digital learning strategies. They will have hands-on opportunities to experience the same tools and classroom strategies that schools are using now to enhance student and teacher engagement. During your time at the Institute, you will hear from a variety of education and business leaders who have created blended digital learning environments for faculty and students. The presenters will include those that were early adopters as well as districts that are newer to a student-driven digital environment. Each has their own unique story to tell and experiences to share. In addition, you'll experience your own opportunity to create a digital project which will inspire you to rethink how teaching and learning can happen in your schools. You'll leave the Institute with; Connections to other schools and districts that are all looking to change to a “blended” digital environment for student learning; Understand the framework and steps needed to create a “blended” digital learning environment; Hear and see how classroom learning changes when every student has access to technology that supports knowledge creation, collaboration, and distribution.
