21st Century Learning Leadership Institute
Tuesday, December 8 12:00PM to Wednesday, December 9 2009 12:30PM
You and a team from your district are invited to attend a 21st Century Learning Leadership Institute sponsored by pioneering school districts. These Institutes are your opportunity to see and hear how schools are achieving academic excellence by putting technology in their students' hands.
There is a way to bridge the digital divide between students and school. A way to engage students and make education relevant. How? Research shows students with routine access to laptop computers score higher in writing assessments, demonstrate better analytical skills, engage in problem solving, and collaborate more effectively on schoolwork - all of which, ultimately, lead to higher student achievement.
The agenda includes discussion on how technology changes learning, the impact of professional development, key success factors, funding, and the digital tools today's students use to create knowledge. You will hear from school leaders, have the opportunity to tour classrooms and see a laptop learning initiative in action, and interact with students and teachers.
Cost of the program:
Schools are responsible for transportation to the Institute location and hotel accommodations. Apple will cover all meals and activities during the forum if allowable by your state ethics laws.
School Presidents, Superintendents*, Principals, Curriculum/Technology Directors, Board Members, Teachers and other school leaders. You are encouraged to send a collaborative team of 3 or 4 people.
